Armando Romero, 61, of Minturn, CO passed away peacefully on June 29, 2019. His family mourns the loss of a truly beautiful soul, but celebrates his loving spirit and a life fulfilled by generosity. A selfless man, Armando dedicated his time and love to caring for his parents Higinio and Frances in their later years. His family is eternally grateful and indebted to him for the care he so graciously provided. Although Armando did not have children of his own, his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews will remember him always for his gentle humor and huge heart. There are countless stories of Armando’s silliness including accidentally gifting his niece Heather $100 instead of $10 and not having the heart to take the gift back after realizing his mistake. I think we all can remember the time his great niece Kataleia complained of dirty feet and he was quick to fill a bowl with soapy water and wash her little feet, treating her like the princess he thought her to be. An avid outdoorsman, Armando also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his brothers Pat, Herman and nephew Christopher. Armando was the type of person who would help anyone and everyone even if he was struggling himself and this is what made him so special. Armando was selfless, generous and kind to a fault - something our world needs more of. In your absence, Mando, we will carry on your legacy of being strong enough to be kind even when we are struggling. May you rest eternally in peace knowing that you are loved and missed beyond measure.

Armando is survived by his siblings Herman (Karen), Priscilla (Orlando), Kathy (Juan), Vicky (Tito), Susan, Epi, Pat (Ana); nieces Kristi, Elaine, Andrea, Melissa, Deirdre, Heather, Marianne, Ivonne; nephews Joseph, Francisco, Johnny, Daniel, Ray, Christopher, Mario; great nieces Kayah, Akeylah, Ava, Natalie, Gabbie, Vanessa, Kataleia, McKenzie; great nephews Trent, Isaiah, Gabe, and Noah. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Higinio and Frances Romero, sister MaryAnn, and brother Richard.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at St. Patrick Parish Church in Minturn from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., followed by a Rosary Service at 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held following the Rosary. Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Minturn, with a reception to follow the burial at the St. Patrick Parish Spirit Center to celebrate Armando’s life.

The Romero family would like to thank the community, their friends and family for all their support during their time of need.
