Music by The Piano Brothers

Daisy Carolene Coxwell passed away at the age of 77 on Sunday March 24th, 2019 at the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida, CO. Carol as she was known to her family and friends, was born on October 3rd, 1941 in Beaver, OK to her father Charles Lawrence Kennell and mother Daisy Ann Kennell. Carol married at the age of 18 to her one true love Melvin Stanley Coxwell on January 31st, 1959 at the 1st Baptist Church in Booker, TX. She later graduated from Booker High School in 1960 then attended Beauty School in Pampa, TX. Carol worked shortly as a beautician, but her primary occupation was in retail sales working side by side with her parents and husband at the Western Auto in Booker, TX. She later became a joint owner with her husband of Mel’s TV & Appliance in Perryton, TX. During their years in business the two received multiple awards for top territorial sales of appliances and electronics. Together they loved to serve their community.

Carol and Melvin had two children: a son, Melvin Shane, and daughter, Rhonda Carol. She possessed an unconditional love for all her family and friends. Carol wanted those around her to be happy and healthy, often placing their needs before her own. She was a shining light to her loved ones, inspiring them to be the best that they could in all that they did. She was capable of great love which was shown through her daily actions from her grounding faith in our Heavenly Father. She helped lead several people to the Lord in her lifetime and was happy to do His work.

Her passion wasn’t limited to her family and faith, she enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes. She loved spending time in nature and gardening. She had a true passion for arts and crafts, which she enjoyed sharing with her family. Carol possessed an exceptional talent for decorating her home, especially during the holidays. She loved to cook and always made sure that visitors never left hungry. Her pie crust and hot rolls where second to none and will be missed by all. Carol was a very talented seamstress. She started making her own clothes when she was only a teenager and continued to do so for family throughout her life. In her later years, Carol passionately made custom quilts and blankets for as many family members as she could. She welcomed each family newborn with their first baby quilt.

The Lord also blessed her with the gift of music. With only one year of piano lessons as a child, Carol continued to pursue music in her life teaching herself by ear. She loved gospel hymnals and participated with several churches throughout her life as a pianist and singer. Praising the Lord through song brought her comfort.
