Music by The Piano Brothers

Chester Bion Loback, JR was born in Holton, KS on October 6, 1924 to Chester Bion and Edna Loback.  He died on April 23, 2019 after 94 incredi-ble years.
After a childhood in Kansas and Colorado, his family moved to Buena Vista in 1936 after his dad bought and established Loback’s Bakery.  Several other moves, brought them to Denver for his senior year of high school.   Af-ter graduation in 1942, he joined the navy as a SeaBee and  served as a baker in the South Pacific during WWII.
He married Donna Malone in June 1948.  They settled in Aurora after  he graduated from Arlington State College, Arlington, TX, with a degree in bak-ing and business.  He was a member of PhiTheta Kappa Honor Society.  Three children and a few years later in 1964, they decided to come home to Buena Vista and reopen Loback’s Bakery. He could be glimpsed in the back of the bakery, where he would wave his hand, smile, and if you were lucky, place an icing rose on your cookie or finger.

Chet had been active in numerous organizations:  Masons, American Le-gion, Buena Vista Train Club and First and Southern Baptist Churches.  He served as a Buena Vista City Councilman for several years.
He enjoyed spending time with the family, laughing and talking around the dinner table, picnics, jeeping, and mostly fishing.  He was a skilled lapidar-ist- cutting and polishing precious stones and making silver jewelry.  He al-so repaired a number of clocks for people in the area.
The twinkle in his eye, his story telling and words of wisdom and encour-agement will be greatly missed.

He is survived by; Daughter Lynn VanOver (Charlie) of Rock Springs, WY, Randy Loback, BV,  Robin Rooks (Frank) BV, 4 grandsons:  Joel VanOver and wife Megan, Gilbert AZ, Justin Rooks and wife Melissa Centennial, CO Tyler Rooks, Milwaukee, WI (and Dothan AL), and Adam Rooks and wife Meaghan, Albuquerque, NM: and 3 great-grandchildren;  Adalyn and Ro-wan VanOver and Ava Rooks.
He is preceeded in death by both parents, wife Donna, brother Bill and daughter in law Beth Loback.

Services will be held on May 11, 2019 at Clearview Community Church with internment at Mt Olivet Cemetery to follow and reception at Clearview Community Church.
