Music by The Piano Brothers

On October 29 2018, Frances Romero joined the Lord, her children Mary Ann and Richard and her husband Higinio Romero in Heaven. She leaves a void in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and our lives will never be the same. We take comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and her eternal rest with her loved ones has finally begun. She was surrounded by loved ones when the Lord called her up to His Kingdom. Blessed are those who had the honor to call her mom and grandma and to have witnessed her admirable faith which, no doubt, carried her through so many difficult times. Through every trial, her heart remained kind and warm. Thank you mom and grandma for leaving a legacy of strength through faith. You were truly one of a kind and we love you more than you’ll ever know. We will strive to keep your legacy alive by sharing memories with everyone in our lives. Rest now, your struggle is over and it is time to walk with your God.

Frances was born February 17, 1929 to Doroteo and Maria Cortez. She was orphaned at a young age and was raised by her Uncle Reuben and Aunt Eliza Jaramillo. Frances married Higinio Romero on July 25, 1953. She belonged to the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Patrick’s Parish. In her younger years she loved music and dancing.  She also loved to embroider and to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was always helping out neighbors and friends and never hesitated to go where she was needed.

She is survived by her children Herman (Karen), Armando, Priscilla (Orlando), Kathy (Juan), Vicky (Tito), Susan, Epi, Pat (Ana) and Anita Rivera whom she loved as a daughter; grandchildren Kristi, Elaine, Francisco, Andrea, Joseph, Melissa, Deirdre, Johnny, Daniel, Heather, Ray, Marianne, Christopher, Mario and Ivonne; great grandchildren Trent, Isaiah, Kayah, Akeylah, Gabe, Ava, Noah, Natalie, Gabbie, Vanessa, Kataleia and Mackenzie and her sister Dorothy Romero. She was proceeded by her parents, husband Higinio, daughter Mary Ann, son Richard, brothers Willie and Frank, sister Corrina and numerous other loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Patrick Parish Church in Minturn from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Patrick Parish Church.  Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Minturn, with a reception to follow the burial at the St. Patrick Parish Spirit Center to celebrate Mrs. Romero’s life.  The Romero family would like to thank the community, their friends and family for all of their support during their time of need.
