Paul Munchiando was born in Idaho Springs Colorado at 1034 Colorado Blvd. on May 20 1923 to a family of 5 boys and 2 girls, moving to 1420 Water Street in 1924. Paul attended school in Idaho Springs then entering the Army in 1943, Paul was awarded the Bronze Star for injuries he received during the battle of the Bulge; he also participated in the liberation campaigns in Germany. Paul returned home in 1946 where he and his brother Jack operated the Waterfall Stables, he then worked construction on Highway 6 running the jackhammer and construction equipment in Clear Creek Canyon from there Paul went to work for the City of Idaho Springs, Paul worked for the city for 42 years retiring in 1997, in addition to the city Paul and his brother Tony owned T&P excavating working evenings and weekends for over 60 years. Paul and Dee (Howard) met in1946 and married in 1955, the first couple to marry in new St. Paul's Catholic Church. They had two children Paulette Bordoni (John)
and Greg Munchiando (Linda) and 4 grandchildren, Paul and Alexis Bordoni, Kira and Ashley Munchiando
