Mary Elizabeth Beiriger McEwen passed away peacefully in her sleep in Mesa AZ, Sunday Night, January 24th.  She was a long-time resident of Leadville, Colorado, raising her family in the community.  She was not only a mother to her children, she was a mother to most everyone that had been blessed to be a part of her life.  Through her many voluntary contributions and activities in the Leadville community, including her most notable contributions in CCD and Little League, Mary (Ma, Momma, Granny, Grammy, Mother Goose, Goose) made a lifelong positive impact on countless lives through the years.   She was revered as a strong, kind, loving, beautiful lady that had an unlimited supply of hugs.  A genuine woman who was an ear to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, as well as someone who would tell it like she saw it.  She was also an avid sports fan that could be found watching many local baseball, football, or basketball games.  She always had “the game” on her TV for anyone to sit and watch with her.  She was our Mother Goose, the Matriarch to our family and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her children Timothy of Reno, NV, Roxie (Danny) of Leadville, Scott of Mesa AZ, Sam(Al) of Leadville, Gigi of Mesa, AZ, Kimberly (Greg) of Leadville, Kelly (Shellie) of Littleton CO, Michael (Keri) of Colorado Springs, Natasha (Bryce) of Henrietta, TX; grandchildren Amanda (Jason), Shawn, Joey, Dano (Kaylee), Brittany (Chase), Joshua (Jen), Alicia (Mario), Hilary, John, Olivia, Mathias, Jesse and Brantley; great grandchildren Corina, Jakob, Anissa, Ashton, Cammie, DeAnna, Taytum, Jeremy, Kaeden, Brendan, Kyla, Kacie, Kamryn and Cody; siblings Kevin (Jalynne) Beiriger, Harold (Denise) Helmick, Frances Nye, Donnie (Linda)Helmick, Charles Helmick, Richard Helmick, Connie Helmick, Gail (Paul) Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents, Raymond and Katherine (Gerri), sister Sue, brother Stanley, daughter Christina, son Mitchell and granddaughter Tasheena.
Because Mom was such a selfless kindhearted woman, she requested that no services be held.  She also requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Skyline Baseball in her memory in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
The family will be planning a celebration this July in her honor.  All who want to share her memory with the family are welcome to attend.  Details will be available this spring.  Thank you for putting a smile on her face.

Timothy, Roxie, Scott, Sam, Gigi, Kimberly, Kelly, Michael and Natasha and families, as a youngster growing up in Leadville, I remember Mary's beauty and for a young girl seeing her I admired her. She always looked so lovely at the store and at church and with a big family how impressive is that? She is truly an angel and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sadness.

I am so sorry to learn of Mary's death. Mary has been one of my favorite cousins and we have stayed in contact all these years. I loved hearing all about each of you in her Christmas letters. Her obituary truly sums up who she was and all she has been to all of us and to everyone.
May she now enjoy eternal peace and joy with our loving God. I am keeping all of you in my love and prayers.

I was very saddened to hear of Mary's passing. I met Mary at the very young age of 6. She was a part of my childhood life, and as I grew into adulthood and motherhood, a part of my daughters' lives. They both called to express their sadness upon hearing of her passing. As her obituary describes, she was a unique and wonderful woman who will be greatly missed!

To all her family, our deepest condolences. Noreen (Martinez) Flores, Darryl, Jeanelle and Monique
