Gary Lee Moore, 61, of Buena Vista, Co., died June 25, 2015 in his home.

Gary was born to Guy L. Green and Treiva Jo Collings/Salters in Denver, Co.  Attended Denver Public Schools until the second grade, when he moved to Leadville, Co with his new step-father Howard D. Moore.  Gary washed dishes at school in exchange for his lunch.  He also delivered the Denver Post Newspaper.  His family moved to Buena Vista, Co while he was in middle school.  He started delivering the Denver Post again and did yard work until he finished high school.  In 1972, Gary started working at the Climax Mine.  In 1976 he moved to Cheyenne, WY.  and worked for Capital Lumber as an Outsider Yard Foreman for several years.  He then went to work for A.M.F. Wyatt in Cheyenne as a warehouse foreman.  Also after work and on weekends, worked refurbishing repos and trades, mobile homes for General Electric Credit Corp.  This weekend job lead him to a job in Belfield, ND delivering and repoing mobile homes during and oil boom.

After a couple of years, he moved to Dickinson, ND and worked his way up to manager of H & H Lumber Co.  After four years he went to work for Super 8 Builders (Super 8 Motels) as a job supervisor, working the mid-east coast.

After three years, he moved back to Buena Vista where he worked with his brother-in-law Mike Kochevar (M.K. Construction) building houses for over ten years.

Even though Gary was hit with several health problems, he considered himself fortunate.  First the influence from his grandparents, next to his step-dad (Pops/Doug) for moving our family to Buena Vista and becoming the only dad the children needed.  All this helped Gary when he became a single dad to his two daughters and was able to raise them in Buena Vista.

Gary left this life to join his grandparents, birth father, mother and his brother Tommy Moore.  Gary leaves behind his step-dad Doug Moore, Buena Vista, Co brother Allen (Sally) Moore, Victor, Idaho sister Brenda (Mike) Kochevar, Buena Vista, Co  sisters-in-law Sandi Moore, South Carolina and Kay Moore, Madison, Indiana daughter Carrie (Sam) Heath, Peyton, Co grandchildren Brennan and Adalyn Heath, also nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ashley Tharp Scholarship Fund in care of P.S.H. Signs 12877 US Hwy 24/285, Buena Vista, Co  81211.  Private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

I will always remember the many, many times that Gary would welcome me into their home during my middle and early High School years. I have fond memories of his love for his dog, Reba. And you never had to doubt that he loved his daughters.
