Marvin Benedict Zeimet, 77 of Leadville, Colorado since 1960 passed away on March 8, 2014 in Salida, Colorado.  He was born on August 20, 1936 to Henry and Marie (Gisch) Zeimet in Bode, Iowa.  He married Delores (Boyden) Zeimet on February 20, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa.  
Marvin was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  He was an owner / operator of the service station in Leadville and also worked at the Climax Molybednum Mine.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Leadville Council 681 and Leadville Elks Lodge, #236.  He enjoyed bowling, reading, skiing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Marvin is survived by his wife Delores Zeimet of Leadville; sons Jon Zeimet and wife Lori of Leadville and Christopher Zeimet of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters Shelly Eibling and husband Michael of Evans, Colorado and Cara Gallagher and husband Robert of Fountain Hills, Arizona; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.  He was preceded in death by his sons Michael Scott and Patrick Shawn and his parents Henry and Marie Zeimet.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Leadville from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary service to follow at 6:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Father Steve Parlet as Celebrant.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Leadville with a reception to follow at Leadville Elks Lodge, #236.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Foundation, P.O. We were so sad to hear of Marv's passing. He was such a kind and good friend from the day we set foot in Leadville til the day we left many years later, and beyond. I'm so thankful I got to visit with him my last trip out elk hunting in 2012.
