Frances M. Federico, 82 of Leadville, Colorado since 1961 passed away at her residence on Monday, May 13, 2013.  She was born on September 17, 1930 in Alamosa, Colorado to Fred J. and Florence (Nichols) Hotz.  She married Cosmo Federico on June 14, 1952 in Alamosa.
Frances attended schools in Alamosa and graduated from High School in 1948.  She worked at Mountain Bell Co. in Alamosa from 1948 to 1952.  She also worked at Fremont Trading Co. in Climax for 1 year and lived in Climax for 10 years before moving to Leadville.  Frances enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bridge with her friends, cooking, painting, crafts, crossword puzzles, bowling and watching the Colorado Rockies.
Frances is survived by her children Janet (Ron) Garrett, Cosmo R. (Debbie) Federico, Felicia (Joe) Roeder; grandchildren Lisa (Joe) Tiberi, Thomas (Amber) Garrett, Matthew (Laura) Garrett, Timothy Garrett, Cosmo D. Federico, Dominick (Felicia) Federico, Dante Federico, Nicholas Federico and Maggie Roeder; great-grandchildren Carter Tiberi, Lindsay Garrett, Samantha Garrett, Liam Garrett, Logan Garrett and Grace Ontiveros; sister Clymath (Richard) Parker, brother Urban Hotz and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.  She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, sisters Janeisce Hotz, Berna McFee and Rita Walling and brothers Fred B. and Clinton Hotz.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Leadville with a Rosary Service to follow at 6:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church with Reverend Father Jesse Perez as Celebrant.  Burial will be at Elk’s Rest Cemetery, Leadville with a reception to follow at Leadville Elk’s Lodge #236.  Bailey-Kent Funeral Home of Leadville is assisting the family with arrangements.

We are so sad at the passing of Frances. She has been a good friend for so very long. I will always have such fun and good memories of knowing her.

We pray for each of you to have peace and knowledge that she is now safe and happy with your father. I know she had great faith and that is so wonderful to know at a time like this.

We are so sorry for your loss. We are sorry that we will not be able to attend the services because we have to attend our Granddaughter's graduation in Fort Collins. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We are so sad to hear about the passing of Francis. She was one of the nicest people we knew in Leadville. We will always have fond memories of both her and Coke at the LCHS games.

Sorry for the loss of your Mom.... She was just a sweet lady and one of the nicest of the neightborhood moms. We have alot of great memories on Columbia Street.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I loved playing bridge at her house. She was a very special person, a good friend, and a great cook. I know your memories will carry you through this sad time.
