Howard O. Murray, 88  passed away March 22, 2013 at his home in Buena Vista, Co. after a lengthy illness.  Howard was born Aug. 22, 1924 near Neosho, Mo to Thomas & Martha (Clark) Murray.  He was seventh of nine siblings.  He married Carinna Winchester on Oct. 7, 1944 in Denver, Co and they had four children:  Judy (Don) Spangler from Ohio, Darrell (Marsha) Murray , Garell (Susan) Murray of Cleveland, Ok and James (Alisa) Murray of Buena Vista, Co.  
Howard retired from Texaco refinery in Tulsa, Ok in 1982 and the following year moved to Howard, Co and started Howard's Saddle Shop.  He sold his saddle shop in 1994, married Madelyn Parsons in 1995 and moved to Buena Vista, Co.  Howard was preceded in death by his first wife Carinna, brothers Clifford, Ivan, Bob and Garland, sisters Ruth, Mildred ad Hazel.  His only living sibling Irene Lives in Neosho, Mo.
Howard is survived by his four children and their spouses, two step children, 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.  He was a member of the Cotopaxi Community Church and Mt, Heights Baptist Church.  
Service will be held Tues. Mar. 26, 2013 at 11:00 am at Mt. Heights Baptist Church, 28390 County Road 317, Buena Vista, Co.  Following lunch at the church, graveside service will be at 3:00 pm at Howard Cemetery in Howard, Co.

Im sorry to hear of your loss. I didn't know Mr. Murray but he shared about a two hour story with me of his past working on a wheat thrasher just like the one that was at a auction we were at in Buena Vista.I really enjoyed listening and I thing he enjoyed talking about his past. I still have a knife sheath that he made when he still had the saddle shop in Howard that I caring when I go hunting. Shawn& Kathie Keeler
